At UserKit, privacy isn’t an afterthought — it’s built into how we operate. We created UserKit to help mobile teams communicate directly with their users via real-time video, not to collect unnecessary data or track behavior.
Who we are
We’re UserKit Pty Ltd, an Australian software company. UserKit is an SDK that enables iOS apps to connect with their users via live video, screen sharing, and in-app calling. Our customers are companies who integrate our SDK into their apps to offer these features. This policy describes how we handle personal information for both our customers and their users.
What we collect
We only collect data that’s essential to running the service — nothing more.
From website visitors
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in when using the application. We don’t use cookies for analytics, tracking, or advertising. No third-party scripts. No profiling.
From customers
- Your name and email
- Organization details
- App identifiers (used to link SDK calls to your account)
- Payment and billing information (processed securely by Stripe)
From end users (via the SDK)
End users don’t create accounts with UserKit. When they join a call using our SDK, we temporarily collect:
- Call session metadata (e.g., session ID, participant role, device/network data)
This metadata helps us establish and monitor the call. It’s retained until the customer requests deletion.
We do not store or record audio or video from any calls.
What we don't do

- ❌ We don't collect data beyond what’s required to make calls work
How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
- Establish video sessions between your team and your users
- Monitor reliability and debug issues
- Respond to support requests
- Process and manage billing
If you contact us via email or support, we’ll keep a record of your messages for future reference.
How long we keep it
- Account data (name, email, billing info) is retained as long as your organization has an account with us.
- Call metadata is retained until your organization requests its deletion.
If you close your account, we’ll remove your data unless we’re required to retain certain records for legal or tax reasons.
Your rights
If you’re based in a region with privacy laws like the GDPR or UK DPA, you may have rights to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct, delete, or export your data
- Object to or restrict certain uses

Changes
We’ll update this policy when necessary, and notify account owners if the changes are significant. Minor updates (e.g., clarifications) may be made without notice.
